Botox — Body Lab Bali

Treatment Overview

Botox is a cosmetic treatment that uses a purified protein to temporarily relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles, resulting in smoother and more youthful-looking skin. At Body Lab, Botox is a safe and effective treatment to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while helping to prevent the formation of deeper expression lines over time.

At Body Lab, we offer two botulinum toxin options: Botox® by Allergan and Xeomin® by Merz Aesthetics.

Botox® is a well-established botulinum toxin type A treatment commonly used for cosmetic concerns such as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet.

Xeomin® is another botulinum toxin type A treatment. It is formulated without complexing proteins and may be recommended as an alternative depending on the client’s individual needs and the doctor’s assessment.

Both treatments are administered by qualified medical professionals following a consultation. The most suitable product, treatment areas, and dosage will be determined based on individual facial anatomy, concerns, and desired outcome.

Care guide

Pre & Post Care

Please follow these care instructions before and after your treatment to support a safer and more comfortable experience.

Before treatment 5 care steps
01

Alcohol, smoking, and caffeine

Avoid alcohol for 1–3 days before your treatment to minimize the risk of bruising. Limit or avoid smoking in the days leading up to treatment, as it can impair healing and affect skin quality. Reduce caffeine intake 24 hours before treatment if you are prone to bruising.

02

Avoid blood-thinning medications

Discontinue blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for 7 days before treatment to minimize bruising. Always consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.

03

Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to treatment to optimize skin hydration and treatment response.

04

Skincare products

Stop using retinoids, exfoliants, such as AHAs or BHAs, or other irritating skincare products 3–5 days before treatment to reduce skin sensitivity.

05

Additional tips

Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face.
If you are prone to cold sores and treating areas near the lips, please notify us.
Schedule wisely: book your appointment at least 2 weeks before major events to allow time for any bruising or swelling to subside.

After treatment 8 care steps
01

Stay upright

Remain upright and avoid lying down for 3 hours post-treatment to prevent Botox migration to unintended areas.

02

Avoid touching the treated area

Refrain from touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for 24 hours to avoid spreading the toxin, which could lead to unintended muscle relaxation.

03

Makeup

Avoid makeup for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce infection risk. Use clean brushes and non-comedogenic products thereafter.

04

Alcohol and smoking

Avoid alcohol and smoking for 24–48 hours post-treatment to minimize bruising and support healing, aligning with pre-care.

05

Activity caution

Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, saunas, and steam rooms for 7 days to minimize increased blood flow that could disperse Botox.

06

Cosmetic procedures

Delay facials, face and body massage, chemical peels, laser treatments, microdermabrasion, or other cosmetic procedures in the treated area for 2 weeks to ensure proper Botox settling and avoid complications.

07

Avoid sun exposure

Limit direct sun exposure for 3–7 days post-treatment. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ daily to protect treated areas and prevent worsening of swelling or bruising.

08

Report any side effects

Contact us immediately if you experience severe headaches, drooping eyelids, difficulty swallowing, breathing issues, vision changes, or other unusual symptoms. Mild bruising, swelling, or redness at injection sites is common and typically resolves within 3–7 days.

Questions

Frequently asked

The magic behind Botox injections lies in its ability to block nerve signals that control muscle contractions. When these nerve signals are blocked, the muscles relax and cannot contract. As a result, the overlying skin appears smoother and less wrinkled. One of the critical aspects that make Botox so popular is its versatility.
