Collagen Stimulators — Body Lab Bali

Treatment Overview

Collagen stimulators are injectable treatments that help support the skin’s natural collagen production for a firmer, smoother, and more refreshed appearance over time.

Unlike treatments that focus only on immediate volume, collagen stimulators work gradually by encouraging skin renewal from within. They may be recommended for patients who want natural-looking improvement in skin quality, facial firmness, and overall rejuvenation.

At Body Lab Bali, each collagen stimulator treatment is personalised based on your skin condition, facial structure, and aesthetic goals. A consultation with our medical team is required to determine the most suitable treatment plan for you.

Care guide

Pre & Post Care

Please follow these care instructions before and after your treatment to support a safer and more comfortable experience.

Before treatment 6 care steps
01

Alcohol, smoking, and caffeine

Avoid alcohol for 1–3 days before your treatment to minimize the risk of bruising. Limit or avoid smoking in the days leading up to treatment, as it can impair healing and affect skin quality. Reduce caffeine intake 24 hours before treatment if you are prone to bruising.

02

Avoid blood-thinning medications

Discontinue blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for 7 days prior to minimize bruising. Always consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.

03

Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to treatment to optimize skin hydration and treatment response.

04

Skincare products

Stop using retinoids, exfoliants, such as AHAs or BHAs, or other irritating skincare products 3–5 days before treatment to reduce skin sensitivity.

05

Avoid other treatments

Avoid major dental work for 2 weeks before treatment to prevent inflammation or complications. Refrain from laser treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, or similar skin procedures for 2 weeks before treatment.

06

Medical history disclosure

Inform us of any history of autoimmune diseases, allergies, or prior filler treatments, as CaHA fillers like Radiesse and Novuma may have specific contraindications. Ensure no active skin infection, inflammation, acne, or irritations are present in the treatment area.

Inform us if you have a history of cold sores, also known as herpes simplex virus. Injection of Radiesse and Novuma can activate cold sores.

After treatment 10 care steps
01

Immediate aftercare

Ice the area: apply a cold compress intermittently for 10–15 minutes on and 10 minutes off for the first 4 hours to reduce swelling and discomfort.

Massage: for collagen stimulators, adhere to the “5-5-5 rule” by massaging the treated area for 5 minutes, 3 times daily, for 7 days to ensure even product distribution and minimize nodule formation.

Avoid unnecessary touching or pressure on injection sites to prevent infection or product displacement.

02

No makeup

Avoid makeup for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce infection risk. Use clean brushes and non-comedogenic products thereafter.

03

Gentle cleansing and skin care

Use a mild, non-irritating cleanser to gently clean the treated area. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating for 5–7 days. Avoid active skincare products, such as retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs, on the treated area for 5–7 days to prevent irritation.

04

Limit activities

Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, saunas, massages, or activities that increase facial blood flow for 7 days to reduce swelling.

05

Limit alcohol and caffeine

Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours post-treatment. Minimize excessive caffeine, which may increase swelling or bruising.

06

Avoid sun exposure

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 3–7 days post-treatment. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ daily to protect treated areas and prevent hyperpigmentation.

07

Other treatments

Avoid dental work for 2 weeks post-treatment to minimize inflammation or complications in the facial areas. Refrain from having facials, chemical peels, laser treatments, or invasive skin procedures for 2 weeks.

08

Stay hydrated

Continue drinking plenty of water to promote healing and maintain skin health.

09

Normal symptoms

Mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising is common and typically resolves within 3–7 days.
