Dermal Fillers — Body Lab Bali

Treatment Overview

Dermal Fillers are cosmetic injectable gel-like substances that add volume, contour, and smooth the skin’s appearance. They are commonly used in aesthetic procedures to address wrinkles, fine lines, hollowed cheeks, thin lips, and facial volume loss with age.

Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive way to rejuvenate and enhance appearance. Various dermal fillers are available, each with its specific properties and uses.

Care guide

Pre & Post Care

Please follow these care instructions before and after your treatment to support a safer and more comfortable experience.

Before treatment 9 care steps
01

Alcohol, smoking, and caffeine

Avoid alcohol for 1–3 days before your treatment to minimize the risk of bruising. Limit or avoid smoking in the days leading up to treatment, as it can impair healing and affect skin quality. Reduce caffeine intake 24 hours before treatment if you are prone to bruising.

02

Avoid blood-thinning medications

Discontinue blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for 7 days before treatment to minimize bruising. Always consult your doctor before stopping any prescribed medication.

03

Stay hydrated

Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to treatment to optimize skin hydration and treatment response.

04

Skincare products

Stop using retinoids, exfoliants, such as AHAs or BHAs, or other irritating products 3–5 days before treatment to reduce skin sensitivity.

05

Infections or skin issues

Inform us if you have a history of cold sores, also known as herpes simplex virus, especially before lip treatments. Preventive medication may be required. Ensure no active skin infections, acne, or irritations are present in the treatment area.

06

Avoid other treatments

Avoid dental procedures, such as cleanings, fillings, or extractions, for at least 2 weeks prior. Refrain from laser treatments, chemical peels, microneedling, or similar skin procedures for 2 weeks before treatment.

07

Lip Filler - Dietary restrictions

Avoid hot, cold, or spicy foods and drinks for 24 hours to prevent increased blood flow to the lips, which may worsen swelling.

08

Lip Filler - Activities

Avoid kissing, oral sex, licking, or biting lips for 3 days to prevent trauma or filler displacement, especially within the first 24 hours.

09

Lip Filler - Lip care

Do not apply lipstick or lip gloss for 3 days. Use a gentle, hydrating lip balm to keep lips moisturized.

After treatment 10 care steps
01

Avoid touching

Do not touch, press, or massage the treated area for 24 hours to prevent product displacement, unless instructed.

02

No makeup

Avoid makeup for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce infection risk. Use clean brushes and non-comedogenic products thereafter.

03

Cold compress

Apply a cold compress, wrapped in a clean cloth, intermittently for 10–15 minutes on and 10 minutes off for 4 hours to minimize swelling and bruising.

04

Gentle cleansing and skin care

Use a mild, non-irritating cleanser to gently clean the treated area. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating for 5–7 days. Avoid active skincare products, such as retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs, on the treated area for 5–7 days to prevent irritation.

05

Limit activities

Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, saunas, massages, or activities that increase facial blood flow for 7 days to reduce swelling.

06

Limit alcohol and caffeine

Avoid alcohol for 24–48 hours post-treatment. Minimize excessive caffeine, which may increase swelling or bruising.

07

Avoid sun exposure

Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 3–7 days post-treatment. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen SPF 30+ daily to protect treated areas and prevent hyperpigmentation.

08

Other treatments

Avoid dental work for 2 weeks post-treatment to minimize inflammation and infection risk. Postpone facials, face massage, chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, or waxing for 2 weeks.

09

Normal symptoms

Mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising is common and typically resolves within 3–7 days for fillers and 1–3 days for skin boosters.

10

Report any side effects

Contact us immediately if you experience severe pain, persistent swelling, redness, lumps, skin blanching, vision changes, or signs of vascular complications.
